Patterson Club - Fairfield, CT

May 15, 2009 - Mark P. Finlay Architects, AIA was honored at the third annual “Innovation in Design Awards” ceremony presented by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens Magazine on Wednesday, May 13th. The firm won an award for “Innovation in Architecture” for their design of a private residence in Fairfield.

The winning project involved the design of the master plan on 7-acres and included a 7,500-square-foot main residence, a 3,500-square-foot barn, and two separate fenced-in paddocks for the owner’s four horses. The character of the interior of the home is country style marked by warm woods in ceiling beams, mouldings and antique oak hard wood floors which carry throughout the first floor’s main living areas.

Winners were announced at an awards gala held at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan. Awards were given in six categories: Innovation in Architecture, Landscaping, Kitchens, Baths, Interior Design and Preferred Builders. All awarded projects will be featured in the July/August issue of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens.
