“Architecture Here and There” Blog Recognizes Finlay Projects

April 4, 2010 - The Providence Journal Architecture Blog “Architecture Here and There” written by David Brussat (an advocate of traditional architecture) recognized two projects designed by Mark P. Finlay Architects, AIA.
The first project, 1020 Post Road, is a mixed-use transit-oriented commercial building located in downtown Darien, Conn. Finlay and the Developer, David Genovese of Baywater Properties, won the 2009 Construction Industry Recognition Award for their collaboration on this building that transformed the town’s downtown area upon its completion in 2008.
The second project mentioned is a new guest cottage on a 40-acre site in Newport, R.I. Completed at the end of 2008, this is one of five buildings designed for the property. All Finlay designs, in planning are a main residence, a carriage house and a barn. A caretaker’s cottage is already built adjacent to the guest cottage featured.
