Mark P. Finlay Architects, AIA wins 'A-List Award'
September 15, 2011 - Mark P. Finlay Architects, AIA was recently named a winner in the 2011 A-List Awards for the best Traditional Architecture over 7000 square-feet. The announcement was made at the A-List Awards gala held at the Westport Country Playhouse with an outstanding awards ceremony hosted by television personalities Kendra Farn and Noah Finz.
Moffly Media holds the A-List Awards through its ‘athome’ magazine to celebrate the best in interior design, architecture and landscape design in Fairfield County. A panel of nationally recognized judges, all experts in their fields, chose this year’s A-List. The 2011 judges include Jonathan Adler, Bunny Williams, Eric Cohler, Celerie Kemble, Vicente Wolf, Jeremiah Eck and Paul MacNeely.
Mark P. Finlay Architects’ winning project was the design of a home located in Darien, CT. The plans of this residence had the rare opportunity to lie twice on Mark Finlay’s drawing board, once in 1993 for the original homeowners and then again about 12 years later to renovate it for the new residents.
Incased in brick, this Georgian styled home sits on 2.5 acres of land and is 8,500 square feet. A nice sense of proportion makes itself felt throughout, with a breadth and spaciousness most appealing the lifestyle of both clients.
